Revealed: The three top-six Premier League clubs still interested in Jean-Michael Seri

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all remain interested in signing OCG Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to Sky Sports sources.

The Ivorian has been attracting the interest of various European giants since last summer and three top-six Premier League clubs remain in the queue for his signature.

It is understood that 26-year-old is available for £35m, however, the arrival of new manager Patrick Viera could alter the club’s stance over the player’s future.

Raul Sanllehi’s Arsenal interest

The Gunners’ Head of Football Relations Raul Sanllehi is the main driving force behind the club’s interest in the player.

Last summer, when working in the same role at Barcelona, Sanllehi pushed for the Catalan Giants to sign Seri.

The club have also looked at several similar players, although Seri remains a name on the list of potential targets.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery is looking to improve his midfield this summer with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny disappointing last season.

Conte causing transfer uncertainty

With the managerial situation at Chelsea remaining unclear, transfer targets have been placed to one side.

The West London club is also facing real uncertainty at board-level with owner Roman Abramovich unable to gain a UK Visa.

For now, Antonio Conte remains in charge – causing Chelsea’s interest in Seri to waiver.

City’s Vieira connection

Having managed Manchester City’s academy and the club’s parent club New York City in the MLS, the Premier League champions very well linked with Vieira, City could use the newly appointed manager to give them the edge in the race to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Napoli’s Jorginho remains target number one, however, Pep Guardiola’s side are looking at alternatives with a deal proving difficult.
