Di Marzio: Tottenham target Kluivert to sign for Roma tomorrow

As per a report from highly-reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio this evening, Ajax youngster Justin Kluivert is on the verge of a move to Serie A outfit AS Roma.

Prodigious talent

Kluivert, a versatile 19-year-old attacker who generally plays on the wing, came up through Ajax’s youth ranks, before breaking into the first-team of the Eredivisie giants in 2016.

And Kluivert has since gone on to establish himself as one of the most highly-regarded starlets in the recent memory of Dutch football, with the pace, dribbling abilities and eye for goal possessed by the teen having already caught the eye of a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.

He racked up 10 goals and 5 assists across 30 league outings this past season.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of the talents of the once-capped Oranje international, but it was the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals Tottenham who were rumoured to have taken the lead in the race for Kluivert over recent weeks.

And, after reports emerged that Ajax were attempting to finalise a deal with Spurs without having even informed Kluivert himself, the youngster made the decision that he would certainly move on this summer, but not to North London.

Done deal

As such, after negotiations between Ajax and Italian giants Roma began to gain traction over the last week, reports claimed that Kluivert had given the green light to a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

And, as per the aforementioned report from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Dutch prodigy’s move to the Italian capital is now all but complete, with Kluivert set to fly to Rome tonight, before undergoing his medical tests and signing with the Giallorossi tomorrow:
