Arjen Robben & Franck Ribery: Bayern Munich’s double deal

Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga!

It was another historic weekend for Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians have been crowned German champions yet again following a 4-1 win away at Augsburg.

The Bavarians were ahead at the break thanks to goals from Corentin Tolisso and James Rodriguez. Arjen Robben and Sandro Wagner scored in the second half to give the scoreline extra gloss.

Arjen Robben & Franck Ribery new deals

On Monday, German news outlet Kicker have confirmed that Bayern are closing in on a major double deal.

Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are both out of contract at the end of the season.

Yet Kicker announce that both the Dutch and French wingers have been offered one-year contract extensions at the Allianz Arena.

Robben, 34-years-old, could complete a decade at Bayern if he signs the one-year deal.

As for Ribery, 35, Kicker note that his contract talks with the club are already at an advanced stage.

Robben after Augsburg

It’s worth noting that Robben talked about his Bayer future after the Augsburg game.

When asked whether this could be his last Bundesliga title with Bayern, the Dutchman replied:

It’s possible. Anything is possible in football, which is why you have try to enjoy it and also keep your focus on football.

I’ve often said it’s not easy because we’re all people, you have to plan and have thoughts in your head. Other clubs contact you and everyone’s making plans for next season, that’s the case for Bayern and other clubs as well and for me also.

I have to think about it, but like I said the only important thing for me right now is this last month and I want to give everything.
