Tottenham’s Harry Kane reacts to injury news

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has this afternoon taken to social media to react to the diagnosis of the ankle injury he picked up versus Bournemouth at the weekend.

The two sides went head to head at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with an early Junior Stanislas strike for the hosts eventually cancelled out by Dele Alli, Heung-min Son (2) and Serge Aurier to see Spurs emerge with a comfortable 4-1 victory.

However, the win came at a cost, with all of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Danny Rose having been forced off with injury/fatigue problems.

While the latter duo’s issues were later revealed to be purely precautionary by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, the news regarding Kane has been less positive, with the North Londoners having confirmed earlier today that their star man faces a month on the sidelines after damaging ligaments in his ankle.

Kane’s injury came about following a collision with Bournemouth shot-stopper Asmir Begovic during the first-half on Sunday.

A pinpoint through-ball from Christian Eriksen on the half-hour mark saw Kane look as though he had broken the offside trap to finish expertly, only for the goal to be correctly ruled out by the linesman.

However, as Kane connected with the ball, his right foot turned in the Vitality turf under the challenge of Begovic, with the English hitman limping off down the tunnel to be replaced by Erik Lamela.

‘Part of the game’

And Kane himself has this afternoon taken to Twitter to react to the news on his injury, with the 24-year-old doing his best to stay positive:
