Man United slayer Wissam Ben Yedder gets targeted by meme-makers

Man United 1 – Sevilla 2

The day after Man United were knocked out the Champions League, people are still trying to explain how the Red Devils lost.

After three halves of football without a goal, all three goals in the last-16 tie came in the final 45 minutes.

Sevilla progressed through to the quarterfinals courtesy of a double from forward Wissam Ben Yedder.

Romelu Lukaku found the target for Man United with what proved to be a consolation goal.

Wissam Ben Yedder is on fire

Ben Yedder has been struggling to lock down a starting spot in recent weeks.

Vincenzo Montella has been preferring to start with Luis Muriel in attack, as was the case at kick off at Old Trafford.

Ben Yedder replaced Muriel in the second half against United, and his impact was immediate.

The 27-year-old is now the second highest goalscorer in the Champions League this season.

While Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo tops the charts with 12 goals in the competition, Ben Yedder is now on eight goals.

Against Man United and Liverpool, the Sevilla striker has scored six times this season.
