‘No Chance’

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has been discussing the clubs chances of signing Barcelona star Lionel Messi in the future.

The Argentine signed a new deal with the club at the end of last year but his future has always been the subject of speculation.

While it’s expected that he will finish his career at the Camp Nou, there is still the chance of one last big move.

One club that has been linked with a move in the past is Manchester City as Pep Guardiola has big ties with Barcelona.

While you could see the two lining up with each other at the Etihad, Ferran Soriano has explained why that won’t be happening.

‘There is no chance of signing Messi,’ Soriano explained to media in Argentina, as cited by the Mail.

‘I know him and his family well and I know they are fine in Barcelona, which is where he needs to be.

‘We will make our way without him, which will be more difficult because he is the best player in the history of football.

‘He changed everything, he is a genius.’

Lionel Messi’s teammate SeBusquetssquet is also adamant that the Barcelona star won’t be leaving the Camp Nou.

He explained this week that he has everything he needs right where he is.

‘When you feel at home and you win titles and you win individual prizes, finding all that somewhere else is very difficult.

‘We know that the Premier League is a spectacular league but he has everything here, he would not find it anywhere else.’

Fred to Man United, Man City move for Julian Weigl

One player who has a much bigger chance of joining Manchester City is Shakhtar’s Fred.

Having been linked for a number of months and reports of an agreement, you would have expected no hiccups.

Though, Manchester United have made their move for the player.

Now, Man City have turned their attention elsewhere.

They are looking to mover for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl.
