Arsenal to beat AC Milan 2-1 is 7/1 with Paddy Power

Arsenal ended a run of four straight defeats last Thursday at the San Siro. The Gunners beat AC Milan 2-0 thanks to goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal’s win ended Milan’s 13 game unbeaten run under Gennaro Gattuso.

Arsenal’s task is simple on Thursday: They must not lose by more than one goal.

Nobody could quite believe what they were seeing when Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s deflected strike flew past Gianluigi Donanarumma in the 15th minute at the San Siro.

The goal gave Arsenal the confidence to go on and control the game, which they did and doubled their lead with the last kick of the first half through Aaron Ramsey.

Arsenal were fantastic in Milan and a similar performance at the Emirates would see the Gunners through to the quarter finals of the Europa League with ease.

Arsenal’s feel good factor was evident yet again on Sunday as Watford were defeated 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium with Petr Cech saving his first penalty since joining the club in 2015.

Milan responded to the defeat in superb fashion. Andre Silva scored his first Serie A goal for the club in the 94th minute of Milan’s match at Genoa. The Portuguese striker’s late goal gave his side all three points.

Milan have improved dramatically under the guidance of former player Gennaro Gattuso.

The club sacked Vincenzo Montella in November after a run of poor form left them in the bottom half of the table. Montella is now in the quarter finals of the Champions League with Sevilla.

Arsenal team news vs AC Milan

David Ospina will start in goal for Arsenal once again in European competition. The Colombian stopper played well at the San Siro and is seen as Arsenal’s “cup keeper”.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is unavailable for Europa League action whilst Santi Cazorla and Alexandre Lacazette are both ruled out through injury.

A big Arsenal contingent including Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal have all suffered with small injury problems in recent weeks.

It looks like Wenger rested Wilshere and Ramsey in Arsenal’s last match against Watford as a precaution but Arsenal could certainly line up with a weaker side on Thursday evening.

AC Milan team news vs Arsenal

Milan have a fully fit squad travelling to London with the exceptions of summer signing Andrea Conti and veteran defender Ignazio Abate.

Milan’s top scorer this season, Patrick Cutrone, was unable to make an impact against Arsenal last week and Milan may opt to start Andre Silva instead.

Silva, who scored the winner for Milan at the weekend, has scored 8 goals in the Europa League so far this season (2 in the qualifiers).

Arsenal to win and both teams to score: 7/2 with William Hill
