Antonio Conte hints at change of formation as struggles continue

Change of system

Antonio Conte has hinted that he is ready to change things up at Chelsea in an attempt to get out of their current Premier League slump.

The side have been struggling in recent weeks with poor results against Watford, Bournemouth and more.

That has lead to big questions over Antonio Conte and his future at Stamford Bridge.

Some have even suggested that Luis Enrique is waiting in the wings to take over from the Italian when he does get sacked.

Safe to say, he is in need of a win against Hull this weekend and now he might just have found the formula for doing that.

The Italian boss has suggested that he could attempt to play both Alvaro Morata and January signing Olivier Giroud up top together.

The Frenchman came in as a backup option last month but Morata’s form has seen him sit on the bench in recent weeks.

Now, Conte could be looking to the both of them for a solution to his second season woes.

When asked about the possibility of the two playing up top together, Conte replied: ‘I think that, in the future, yeah. Yes, it could happen.

‘If we decide to play with the three midfielders, during the game it can happen. But now, I think it’s very soon to answer this question.

‘Don’t forget that we are playing with a system from last season. In this case, in this system, it would mean (Eden) Hazard, Pedro and Willian are out.’

Why Antonio Conte received a Man United shirt before Hull

That wasn’t even the biggest story from the press conference today.

That is because the Italian boss was bizarrely handed a Manchester United shirt signed by Jose Mourinho.

Safe to say, he wasn’t impressed with it in the slightest!
