NBA Celebrity All-Star Game 2018 Rosters, Start Time, TV Info and More

The All-Star Weekend is one of the highlights of the NBA calendar because it brings so many elements together, with 2018’s event running from February 16-18.

The All-Star Game on Sunday may be the reason the league will center its focus on the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but there’s a lot more than just the competition between teams selected by Stephen Curry and LeBron James.

Some of those events include the Rising Stars Game, the dunk contest and the three-point shooting competition.

The Celebrity All-Star Game is the first event of the weekend on Friday, February 16, and it will be played at the Verizon Up Arena at the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is quite close to the Staples Center.

The game will tip off at 7 p.m ET, and it will be televised by ESPN. The celebrity game will also be streamed on the WatchESPN app.

The two teams are named the Celebrity Lakers and the Celebrity Clippers, paying homage to the two L.A. NBA organisations that share the Staples Center.

Here’s a look at the two rosters.

Nick Cannon of Team Lakers has shown off his athletic skills in previous celebrity All-Star Games and is making his 10th appearance in the showcase. Jamie Foxx of Team Clippers has demonstrated excellent athletic ability on the big screen, and he played football and basketball in high school.

Team Lakers will be led by former NBA stars Tracy McGrady and Nate Robinson, while Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks has excellent skills and should put her stamp on the game.

Team Clippers will counter with Paul Pierce and Jason Williams, and Chicago Sky’s Stefanie Dolson adds more star power.

Many of the other celebrities are X-factors, but Andre De Grasse of Team Clippers may be unstoppable if he gets ahead of the field on the fast break. Meanwhile, boxer Terence Crawford brings a sense of toughness to Team Lakers.

ESPN host Rachel Nichols will coach Team Lakers, with assistance from McGrady and actor Michael B. Jordan. Team Clippers will be coached by ESPN’s Katie Nolan, and she will get help from Pierce and actor/rapper Common.
