Klopp reveals one Liverpool player that has benefitted from Coutinho exit

Unexpected positive

Liverpool certainly won’t benefit from the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona but one player looks to have found it positive.

That is because Coutinho’s national teammate Roberto Firmino has found himself at centre stage since his departure.

The Brazilian has started to be recognised as one of the best forwards in the Premier League after his recent performances.

Having scored 20 goals so far this season, the player is starting to benefit from a starring role in Liverpool’s attack.

The player even set up Mohamed Salah for his goal against Huddersfield in their last outing with an incredible backheel.

He then scored a goal of his own, showcasing both his playmaking and goalscoring skills over the full 90 minutes.

Now, Jurgen Klopp has claimed that the player is now not being overshadowed by Philippe Coutinho at the club and that’s why is quality is ‘more obvious’.

“I don’t think he has stepped up but maybe it is more obvious because his situations are not overshadowed by Phil Coutinho’s situations,” said Klopp.

“That’s how it is. That is all. He’s a very important player and he doesn’t always have to be the standout player. As often as he can be, that’s good.

“I don’t think he’s underrated. Not anymore. I don’t know what other people think about Roberto Firmino.

“I can imagine a bit because you ask me about it. I have no idea. People with a football brain judge him right. That’s how it is.”

Liverpool’s surprise back four predicted vs Porto

While Roberto Firmino will be important in their Champions League clash with Porto tonight, so will their defence.

The Portuguese side are on a lengthy unbeaten run and they will take some beating.

Though, a surprise back four has been predicted for the clash in Portugal tonight.
