Jose Mourinho accused of ‘mismanaging’ one Man United star

Jose Mourinho has been accused of mismanaging Paul Pogba by Jamie Redknapp, who thinks that the Manchester United boss is not doing what it takes to get the best out of the player.

He thinks that playing Pogba out of position and also making him the scapegoat for poor results by taking him off midway through a game is not the right thing to do – and that it will only damage the player’s confidence further.

Redknapp, who’s never been the biggest fan of Mourinho, blasted the United boss and noted in his eyes, it’s Mourinho’s job to get the best from Pogba and ‘make him feel loved’.

“I can’t believe we’ve got to this situation so quickly, because when he got sent off against Arsenal, everyone was rolling out the stats that Manchester United can’t play without him,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“Everyone said that he was indispensable but now everyone is saying he’s useless again.

“When things are good, he’s the best player in the world. And now because of his price tag he’s getting slaughtered.

“I think Mourinho has a big responsibility with him, it’s his job.

“Everyone expects him to be this big confident player, but I think deep down he needs to be loved.

“Taking him off against Tottenham, that’s not how you’re going to get the best out of him. You can see at Newcastle, his confidence was really low.”

The headaches are just coming thick and fast for Mourinho at the moment, and the United boss also has to deal with the fact his side are struggling at the back with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, who seem to produce an error a game between them – if not more.

It’s now been rumoured the United boss is willing to cut his losses come the summer and see both of them depart, and invest a huge amount of money in his centre backs.
