Rumour: Loris Karius in, Simon Mignolet dropped vs Man City

Liverpool vs Man City

Hours before the big Super Sunday match at Anfield, rumours spilled out on Liverpool’s XI against Man City.

Earlier in the day it was confirmed that Liverpool would have to wait to see Virgil van Dijk in the Premier League.

The 75 million pound Dutch defender scored the winner in front of the Kop against Everton in the FA Cup.

But the former Southampton defender was forced to miss the Man City game with a hamstring issue.

‘Loris Karius in, Simon Mignolet dropped’

Twitter user Oliver Bond is a well known Liverpool ITK.

He’s the founder of AnfieldHQ and he has close ties with the Liverpool Echo and Mirror.

He took to social media to announce that German goalie Loris Karius will start against Man City while Simon Mignolet has been dropped.

That selection decision was labelled “a huge call from Klopp.”

Liverpool are likely to line up Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip at the heart of their defence against Man City.

Will that duo be able to stop Sergio Aguero from scoring? Interestingly, the Argentine has never managed to score at Anfield in his Premier League career.
